Friends of the Dilena Takeyama Center are invited to attend a book reading and discussion by Gretel Ehrlich, author of "Facing the Wave," which chronicles the lives of Japanese farmers, fishermen, monks and an elderly geisha in the aftermath of the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
The talk will be held at 12:30 pm Friday, Feb. 22, at the Mechanics Institute, 4th Floor Meeting Room, 57 Post Street, San Francisco. General admission is $12. Admission is free for members of the Mechanics Institute, Asia Society of Northern California and Japan Society of Northern California. Reservations are required.
