Corinne Morier discusses her trip to Fukushima.

A Fukushima television station turned its cameras to a team of San Francisco State University students who visited Japan to learn how local residents were coping in the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear power plant disaster.

The SFSU team visited Fukushima in August of 2014 to tour the area, meet with residents and produce multimedia stories about the recovery experience. Their stories are now available on a special website, Facing Fukushima: We Are Here.

A local television crew caught up with the students while they were in Fukushima and did a story for the daily newscast. The story is now available on YouTube with English subtitles prepared by Corinne Morier, one of the SFSU students. Please click on Fukushima Ambassadors Program to view the story.

Morier, a Japanese language major, has now graduated. The Dilena Takeyama Center offers thanks to her for subtitling the television story.
